Every campus has an S drive. This drive is for use with students. The Resource folder in the S drive will only let teachers save to it. Students will save to the Student Work folder there. The grade level and teacher folders there are set up so that students and teachers can save, but they could get moved by anyone. If that happens, the permissions on the folders may have to be "fixed" when they are put back into place.
K drive:
This is a drive for staff members only. Students cannot access it. This is where you want to put lessons and other documents to share with your teammates.
R drive:
This drive is accessible to both students and staff. Resources on the R drive have been approved by district specialists.
I drive:
This is where the students' My Documents folders are located for each campus. They are identified by Katy ID. Teachers can access them, but if you modify any files, they will no longer open for the student. A good practice is to have students save to their folders, but save a final copy in a folder in Student Work on the S drive.
How do the network drives work? (S, K, R, I)
